Public consultation closes on emerging proposals for Uplands Farm Estate

The project team would like to thank everyone who participated in the consultation and provided their thoughts and comments on emerging proposals for up to 1,025 new homes, a secondary school and community facilities on Uplands Farm Estate in Botley and Hedge End – in response to local housing and education needs. The County Council is responding directly to a request from Eastleigh Borough Council for us to bring forward these sites as part of their Local Plan review. Key areas of feedback included cumulative impacts with other developments and consented schemes in the area, traffic/transport, community facilities and services (including medical provision), drainage and sewerage, landscaping and open spaces.

The team is now reviewing all comments, considering feedback and undertaking studies and surveys to inform the final proposals.  A response to key issues received will be provided through the Consultation Report.  This Report will form part of the supporting documentation for the planning applications, which are due to be submitted to Eastleigh Borough Council by spring 2018.  These applications will then be considered by Eastleigh Borough Council in its role as the local planning authority.
